A Shaker kitchen is a traditional style known for its simple design, high quality craftsmanship and minimalistic structure.

Shaker Kitchen History

Named after the 18th Century religious group the “Shaking Quakers” (shortened to ‘Shakers’), this renowned style embodies their ethos of cleanliness, functionality and sophistication. The hallmarks of the Shaker aesthetic are clean symmetrical lines, flat centre cabinet panels with square edges, and minimal ornamentation.
Every piece was crafted using the best woods, usually hardwoods like pine, maple or oak, including the handles which were left simple and humble with no intricate flourishes.
Naturally the Shaker style has evolved over time to adapt with modern times but has remained popular thanks to its timeless principles and versatility.
